Hello Sailors!

Getting away on your boat for Easter weekend? As you sail away munching on an Easter egg or two or three, have you ever wondered from where the Easter egg originated?
In many cultures around the world, the egg is a symbol of new life, fertility and rebirth. For thousands of years, Iranians and others have decorated eggs on Nowruz, the Iranian New Year that falls on the spring equinox. For Christians, the Easter egg is symbolic of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. As Christ's death and resurrection occurred around the time of the Jewish Passover, which was celebrated on the first full moon following the vernal equinox, this lead to Easter being celebrated on different dates each year.

Happy Easter to you and yours from the team at Yachtfinders Global!

Absolute Navetta 53 - The Absolute Momentum!

The new 53 was officially unveiled at the 2024 Cannes Yachting Festival.

This model features a refined hull line, giving it a more modern appearance. A significant update is the redesigned aft section, which opens up the cockpit to provide direct sea views. This design choice, inspired by the FLY range, has already been well-received at recent shows.

The front area has also been revamped to create a modular, user-friendly relaxation space.

Absolute offers an optional hard top with solar panels that automatically manage battery charging.

Inside, the design discreetly evolves, blending precious woods, leather, and other luxurious materials to create a refined atmosphere. Large glass surfaces and notable height enhance the sense of spaciousness.

Why Peter Burling Leaving Emirates Team NZ Feels Like a Breakup

Peter Burling’s departure from Emirates Team New Zealand in 2025 isn’t just a major sporting shift — it’s a national heartbreak. For over a decade, he’s been the calm at the helm, the face of victory, and a source of deep Kiwi pride. Now, he’s gone — and it feels a lot like getting dumped.

YFG is proud to present this exceptional 2024 Selene Explorer 49

The Selene 49 is the next-generation evolution of the popular Selene 47. It boasts the efficient Deep-Hull™ design and Cruiser Stern™, enhancing engine room and lazarette headroom, making the hull even more efficient than its predecessor. Externally, the Selene 49 maintains a traditional 'salty' look.

A notable upgrade is the expanded flybridge, offering ample space for open-air entertaining. The aft deck accommodates a dinghy and hydraulic crane. The flybridge, with its hard top, features an L-shaped settee, table, and a bar with a sink and BBQ. The deeper hull of the Selene 49 ensures smooth navigation through the water.

I then misjudged the distance between dinghy and yacht and fell in - in full wet weather gear but no boots. By this time, the wind was up around 20+ knots, sending the dinghy away from me'....
