Each week we enjoy bringing you up-to-date local and international news, along with the boats that we proudly represent from Absolute, Selene and Hylas and a brokerage line-up that we sell here and around the world.
Hello Sailors!
Sharing and caring. It's popular. We not only sell boats to those who want the whole boat for themselves; we also sell boats to those who are particularly busy and have limited time to spend on the water. And it works well - for the convenience and the cost. The best of both worlds. Meantime, the Christmas rush is upon us. And it's not just seen with mall-shopping. Boat buyers are out en masse suddenly realising that spring has sprung and boating weather is upon us and they don’t want to miss a summer on the water.
See on our website what we have available for you.

Hylas 48 “See It Up Close in Auckland: The Ultimate Cruiser for Kiwi Waters”
| |
| |
The “First in Class” Hylas H48 has long been the go-to choice for serious cruisers in the mid-size yacht category—and for good reason. Bill Dixon’s smart design updates make this yacht a solid option for anyone planning big adventures for years to come. The extended enclosed centre cockpit gives you space for extra crew and a relaxed social area, while the classic cutter rig offers peace of mind when the weather turns rough. The self-tacking staysail makes heavy conditions a breeze, and with all lines running back to the cockpit, there’s no need to head forward when things get lively. A more upright bow and a beam that carries aft not only boost performance under sail but also open up the interior, giving you more room to enjoy life onboard.

Rising Pirate Attacks Off Somalia Endanger Key Trade Route

| |
Instability in Yemen and the Horn of Africa is fueling a resurgence in maritime piracy off Somalia, a cause for concern in one of the world’s busiest shipping corridors. At least three recorded incidents have taken place off the Horn of Africa nation this month alone, according to the UK Maritime Trade Operations, a navy organization that links military forces with merchant ships, echoing the havoc that Somali pirates wreaked along the East African coast for more than a decade.

So, what do you know about sharks?
| |
Sharks do not have a single bone in their bodies but a skeleton made up of cartilage. Some sharks remain on the move for their entire lives. This forces water over their gills, delivering oxygen to the blood stream. If the shark stops moving then it will suffocate and die. Sharks have outstanding hearing and can hear a fish thrashing in the water from as far as 500m away!

The Selene 60 Classic: A New Standard in Luxury Cruising
| |
| |
The Selene 60 is a new design from a fresh mould featuring the Deep Hull™, raising the sheer and deck for more headroom in cabins and the engine room. Positioned between the Selene 53/54 and 62/66 series, it offers a full-height engine room and separate crew quarters aft with a transom door. The flybridge boasts a 10-person U-shaped sofa, built-in BBQ, sink, and refrigerator. A key feature is the full-height utility room between the master suite and engine room, providing storage, freezer, washer/dryer, and electrical access—while reducing engine noise. Behind the walk-through engine room is a spacious lazarette for tools, gear, or an optional crew cabin with head. The cockpit’s moulded settee adds comfort, while the European transom with inset swim platform elevates the Selene 60 to mini mega-yacht status. An optional FRP hardtop enhances style and function.
