Each week we enjoy bringing you up-to-date local and international news, along with the boats that we proudly represent from Absolute, Selene and Hylas and a brokerage line-up that we sell here and around the world.
Hello Sailors!
Just as we're beginning to get used to being back from our summer break we're now reminded of our holiday again with 2 long weekends on the agenda. Many people have come back from their break looking to upgrade or change their boats completely. Power? Sail? Cat? Trawler? Budget? It's not uncommon for a buyer to say they want one thing and then end up buying a totally different model from a totally different price range. Making sure we know of your exact wishes makes it a great deal easier finding you the correct boat. We have a list of questions to assist us in marrying the right boat with the right person. We pride ourselves in not pushing a buyer in to a boat that's not suitable for them. After all, owning a boat has to be an enjoyable experience. Feel free to talk to us about what would be most suitable for you - whether new or second-hand.
Happy Auckland Anniversary Weekend!

The Selene 49 is the upgraded successor to the Selene 47, featuring the efficient Deep‑Hull™ and Cruiser Stern™ designs for improved performance and increased engine‑room and lazarette headroom. It keeps the classic “salty” exterior while offering a larger flybridge with seating, a bar, BBQ, and space for a dinghy with hydraulic crane. Inside, the extended LOA adds more room in both the cockpit and saloon. The interior is finished in teak, with an L‑shaped dinette, a U‑shaped galley with granite countertops, and a full‑size fridge/freezer. The "First in Class" Hylas H48 Now Available to view in Auckland
| |
The “First in Class” Hylas H48 has long been a favourite among bluewater cruisers, and for good reason. Designed for serious voyaging, it combines proven offshore capability with smart modern enhancements. The extended enclosed centre cockpit offers excellent protection and extra space for crew and relaxation. The classic cutter rig provides confidence in deteriorating weather, while the self‑tacking staysail makes heavy conditions far easier to manage. With all lines led back to the cockpit, there’s no need for crew to venture on deck when the seas are up. A more plumb bow and aft‑carried beam not only improve performance underway, but also create noticeably more interior volume, making life aboard comfortable on long passages. We now have a Hylas H48 available to view in Auckland—a great opportunity to step aboard and see why this model continues to be a top choice for offshore sailors.
