| | | | Each week we enjoy bringing you up-to-date local and international news, along with the boats that we proudly represent from Absolute, Selene and Hylas and a brokerage line-up that we sell here and around the world. | | Hello Sailors
In 2025, we sold an Absolute Navetta 52 to an Auckland client. He chose to take delivery in Italy and is keeping the boat in Europe. The yacht is currently wintering in Rome, and he’ll continue cruising through the Med this year as he moves around. Because the boat was VAT‑paid, he has the advantage of being able to leave the vessel in the EU indefinitely without exiting the region or resetting any temporary importation timelines. It gives him complete freedom to cruise Europe at his own pace. And the other good news is - We’re fortunate to have a sister ship of this Absolute Navetta 52 available right now!! If you’d like more information, please contact Yachtfinders Global.
We’ll be at the Auckland Boatshow 5-8 March on M49. See you there! | | | | | | Absolute 48 Coupe at the Auckland Boat show this weekend
| | We’re bringing the Absolute 48 Coupé to the Viaduct for the Auckland Boat Show, and this one’s a bit special - it’s brand‑new and on the market, and we’re open to offers.
The 48 Coupé is built for proper time on the water: bright, open spaces, smooth indoor -outdoor flow, and a layout that makes long days cruising feel easy. It’s enclosed when you want shelter, wide‑open when you want the horizon - a really tidy balance for New Zealand conditions. If you’re thinking about upgrading or just want to get a feel for what Absolute is doing with this new generation of boats, swing by and have a look. It’s a great chance to step aboard, ask questions, and talk numbers!

A Chance Encounter with the Voice of New Zealand Sailing – Pete Montgomery! | | | |
Last week a customer wandered into our Westhaven office to purchase some of our Semco teak care products - and the moment we started talking, I thought, I know that voice… “You're Peter Montgomery, aren’t you?” I said instantly! That simple question led to an incredible chat about the glory days of the America’s Cup. We talked about Perth in 1987, when New Zealand first challenged for the Cup. I was there, he was there, and he was already the unmistakable voice behind some of our biggest sailing moments. Hearing him reflect on those days was like stepping straight back into one of the most iconic eras in New Zealand sport. We also talked about how winning the America’s Cup reshaped our national identity - how it became something many of us still think of as “the New Zealand Cup.” A moment of unity, pride, and absolute belief in what Kiwis can achieve.
