Hello Sailors
The old line that “European boats aren’t built for New Zealand conditions” comes from a different era - mostly from Australian builders protecting their turf. It was a marketing tactic then, and it simply doesn’t hold up. European yachts are engineered for some of the harshest seas on the planet. The environments they’re designed for are far more demanding than most people realise: Mediterranean mistrals - 40 -50 knot blows that build steep, punishing seas Aegean meltemi - relentless summer winds that test hull strength and stability Bay of Biscay - long‑period swell mixed with short, confused chop North Sea - cold, heavy, unpredictable conditions that expose any weakness.

Recipe of the Week:
Chicken Pot Pie Casserole St | |
- 2 eggs
- 3 C frozen shredded hash browns
- S & P to taste
- 500g pack frozen mixed vegetables
- 1 x 300ml can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 C chopped cooked chicken
- 1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs
- 2 T butter, melted

Preheat oven 200 C. Grease 9" baking dish. Beat eggs in bowl. Add hash browns and mix well; season with S & P. Press hash brown mixture into prepared baking dish. Bake in preheated oven until crust lightly browned, about 15". Mix vegetables, cream of mushroom soup, and chicken together in a bowl and spread over the crust; top with bread crumbs. Drizzle butter over bread crumb layer and season with salt and pepper. Bake until heated through and bread crumbs lightly browned, about 30". | |
