Marriage Only Between A Man And The Sea

Reaffirming a deeply traditionalist definition of the institution of matrimony, a Washington Supreme Court justice issued a statement declaring that marriage can only strictly exist between a man and the tempestuous sea. 'It is my opinion that the only constitutionally sanctionable union is composed of a seafaring man and the solitary life of fickle winds and brine-crested breakers,' he said, adding that any current law that fails to narrowly delineate marriage as a compact involving a man, the churning waves, and the sea-song of gulls in the early dawn is invalid according to the highest law of the land. 'The principle of equal protection enshrined in the Constitution emphatically does not entitle the federal government or any state body to redefine this sacred maritime institution.

The Founding Fathers recognised that the heart belongs to the tides and the deep alone—in both stormful days and calm waters.' He went on to say that marriage between a man and the sea must be preserved as such despite the fact that she can be a cruel mistress with little heed for what a forsaken old sailor wills.

An Absolute Favourite: New Navetta 58

The successor to Absolute’s most popular model globally, the new Navetta 58 is at the centre of a trio of 2026 models upgrading the heart of the Italian shipyard’s high-volume series.
Absolute is unusual but not alone in building its yachts inland. 

Based in Podenzano, south of Piacenza, its standalone production facility is surrounded by farmland. It’s closer to Milan, Italy’s economic capital and second-largest city, than it is to the historic port of Genoa, the nearest big city on the Ligurian Coast.
Absolute showed off all three of its 2026 models  (including the new style Navetta 58) at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival. And wow - did they turn heads!


Recipe of the Week:  


Potato Rosti


Ingredients:

  • 3 medium potatoes
  • 4 T melted butter
  • ½ t coarse salt

Method:
Peel and wash potatoes. Use grater to carefully grate potatoes on coarse side. With your hands, squeeze as much liquid as you can from grated potatoes. Add them to mixing bowl, season with salt, and drizzle over 2 T melted butter. Mix everything well. Heat up frying pan on a medium heat. Add remaining 2 T melted butter, then add potato mixture and use spatula to press down well. Cook for 6 minutes, then place a large plate on top of the frying pan, and carefully tip it over. Slide rosti back into frying pan and fry on that side for a further 6 minutes. Serve hot!

NEW NEW NEW! Absolute Vedetta 84 Flagship and New 62 Fly Motor Yacht Revealed at Cannes

Absolute Yachts has previewed two major additions to its range for 2027, announced during the Cannes Yachting Festival, revealing the new 62 Fly (as seen above) and the 84-foot Vedetta 84 -  (the Vadetta is the first of a completely new range).

The announcements form part of a broader change at the Italian builder, which used its Cannes press conference to introduce a refreshed brand identity under CEO Alessandro Tirelli alongside its future product program.
